Proper etiquette at the Blackjack table includes a little more than the usual rules of etiquette like that in Poker, Bingo, Slot Machine, Roulette and other casino games. Definitely don’t be abusive to the other players or the staff. Everybody is there to have a good time and nobody likes the people that ruin it. Be careful with your drink. You don’t want to spill it on the table. When you have Blackjack or go bust, turn your cards up on the table immediately. The dealer will settle with you immediately and clear the table. You don’t want to do anything to delay the game.
When you need chips place your money on the table and wait for the dealer. Don’t interrupt him or try to get his attention. When he finishes the hand he will attend to you. You cannot hand him the money and he cannot make change for you. Don’t argue with the staff about this fact because this is a rule for the casino security cameras. If there are ever any disputes, there are no questions about who said what. It is all on tape for the camera. Signals are also used when players want to stand (hand with palms down waved back and forth facing the table) and hit (scratching the felt with the cards or tapping the felt with the fingers). Be sure to use the proper signals. When you place a bet, put the chips in the proper area of the felt and don’t touch them again. Proper table etiquette makes the game more enjoyable for everyone.
